The Celestron 8-24 mm Zoom Eyepiece is a premium, fully multi-coated 1.25" eyepiece with an adjustable 8 mm to 24 mm focal length. The 8-24 Zoom Eyepiece produces a wide range of magnifications, but the exact power depends on the telescope you use it in. To figure out what magnification range you'll get in your telescope, simply divide the focal length of your telescope by 8, and then by 24. For instance, if the focal length of your scope is 1000 mm and you do the math, you'll know that this zoom eyepiece will produce magnifications from 42X to 125X.

Zoom eyepieces are super easy to use and economical, but there are a few things to keep in mind with any Zoom. First, start at the lowest power (24) and focus the image. This will be your widest angle view and will allow the most light to reach your eye, so it is great for bigger, fainter objects. Now slowly zoom to reach higher magnifications. You may have to re-focus along the way.
