Junior Cobb Ozarks Folk Artist (March 24, 1941 -- Dec, 12, 2011) Carved Wood Pieces Junior Cobb gained national fame for his woodcarvings of local wildlife and people. Cobb visited the White House when Arkansas Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller invited him and met president Lyndon B. Johnson. A story that Cobb carved his name on a presidential desk is probably a tall tale, according to his brother, W.A. Cobb. Mr. Cobb usually only signed his initials to his work with a simple “JRC”. Junior Cobb signed Druid Tree spirit wood carved folk artwork. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Signed Junior Cobb tree spirit. Just over 10" tall and 8" wide at the widest. Cobb's work is featured in the Smithsonian institute and National Geographic magazine. Junior Cobb (1941 - 2011) was a famed Arkansas Ozarks woodcarver known as a primitive or self-taught, 'outsider' artist.
