3 Kopecks coin from 1916, specifically a German Occupation coin issued during World War I.
Here's more information about this coin:
Origin and Purpose: These coins, often referred to as "Ostrubel" or "Ober Ost" coinage, were issued by the German military administration during WWI for use in the eastern territories occupied by Germany, which included parts of modern-day Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Belarus (formerly Russian governorates like Courland, Grodno, Vilna, Kovno, and Suwałki).
Denomination and Date: As clearly visible on the coin, it is a "3 Kopecks" denomination and was minted in "1916".
Composition: These occupation coins were primarily made of iron due to wartime metal shortages.
Design: The reverse side, shown in the image, features the large Cyrillic denomination within a beaded Iron Cross design. The obverse typically features the inscription "GEBIET DES OBERBEFEHLSHABERS OST" (Region of the Commander-in-Chief of the East) in Latin script.
