Vintage Primitive Antique? Old Wood Railway Express Shipping Storage Crate Box
This is such a cool vintage, possibly antique piece. Made from old wood that may be pine judging by the weight. It is square in shape with flat head screws along the sides and joints. It has the remnants of an old railway sticker on the back. It is hard to see but it reads "railway express" and the name of the recipient and a partial address. The wood has picked up a great patina over time. The hinges are aged but still function well. It is finished with a fold over clasp that was presumably locked with a separate padlock. This was likely used to transport valuable material or personal belongings by freight. Very cool piece. Measures 13" x 13" x 14" tall.
