Rehabbed VTG low serial #10571 "Deluxe" was a '59 upgrade of the '56 model with better VU, head out and trim. Only 50Hz pulley so will run slightly fast on US 60Hz. Akai's used a modified guitar amp head with 6AU6/6BQ5 (EL84) valves, has line / mic in and speaker out. Includes synchrod, schematic and date-stamped cap. Operates well and sounds very good.
Cabinet / metalwork represents original aesthetic; spindles re-felted, new belts, sub-assemblies serviced, brakes adjusted. Electrically, caps upgraded, volume pot replaced, right lever from similar model; tubes replaced with NOS, rubber conditioned. Roller slightly out of round, rewind pulley works but should be rehabbed, motor and capstan oiled not rebuilt, 2 caps on main board not replaced.
