This is a vintage cake or dessert stand that was designed by Georges Briard. It features a beautiful yellow and white color scheme with a central motif of a flower and fruit (perhaps apples or stone fruit). Its style is described as a "contemporary adaptation of early 19th-century English design" and part of the "Somerset" collection.
It measures 10 1/4” in diameter 4 1/2” tall. It is in pristine condition with no flaws at all.
Interestingly, Georges Briard was actually the brand name used by Jascha Brojdo, an artist who designed various serving dishes and drink ware. Jascha Brojdo, (aka Georges Briard), was a Ukrainian-born American designer known for his mid-century modern glassware, ceramics, and metalware. He migrated to the US in 1937 and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. He initially signed his art pieces with his surname, but later used the name Georges Briard for his commercial designs. His work was popular in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, and was sold in high end stores.
